The ISEP leadership is pleased to report that there were 259 Actual Applications in all (well over 350% up from the first years' 60) for the Israel Social Entreureneurship Program. Of those, approximately 120 were Female applications and approximately 130 were Male applications. In addition, several applications were submitted by groups. There were 23 Arab-Israeli applications, and 2 Bedouin applications. In addition, 37 out of 259 applications were from immigrants.
Thanks to Lior Student and to the screening committee for all their hard work on this stage. We are now in the second screening stage of the applications and expect to announce the finalists by the end of July. WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO MENTOR THE NEW FELLOWS. The applications came from all over Israel and covered a range of projects to advance social issues including: Education (civics, financial literacy, general literacy and music), the Environment, Therapeutic (including counselling); Democracy and Civic empowerment; Leadership; Housing and urban renewal projects; legal aid, Creating services and opportunities for the Disabled; Coexistence and conflict resolution; Road safety; Job creation and Jewish renewal; and technology implementation for NGOs.
